Fun at the Goldcoast

EDIT: This post is like almost 2 years late, because this was written at the beginning of 2013, whilst the trip was at the end of 2012. I just stumbled upon it in my drafts and thought it'd be nice to FINALLY post/finish it. Not even sorry. The catch up blogs are almost coming to a close! Haha, anyway, on Saturday the 15th of December my sister, little cousin Jade, Michael (who is also my cousin for anyone that doesn't know) and myself went to the goldcoast since my sister's friend had a spare hotel room booked for whatever reason that she wasn't using! We stayed at Chevron Renaissance which is an amazing place IMO. Once we arrived we got confused of where we were to park, so after some circling and walking, we made it to reception where we were pointed to the right place :)
We stayed on level 32 if I'm not mistaken and the first thing we encountered was trouble with the front door LOL. You had to sort of give it a little bump or some force, but once we entered our room everything looked really nice! We took a little bit of time out set our things down, take pictures, and admire the AMAZING view of the beach. Our room had 3 rooms, 3 bathrooms (including ensuite in the master bedroom) and all the other normal stuff. Please enjoy my selfies with some of the rooms HAHAHA. Couldn't help myself srsly, everything looked so luxurious.
Ok. Maybe not with all the rooms...

Then we got changed etc and went to the pool for a swim! It wasn't actually a pool, it was more of a lagoon? type thing. Spent maybe like an hour or so swimming around and playing tiggy with Michael and Jade! Me and Michael also had to swim away from Jade because she was trying to throw sand at us LOL. Sadly I didn't take any photos of the lagoon so here are some pictures courtesy of google images!
As you swim closer to the bridge, the water gets deeper so I was incredibly pussy and refused to swim over to the other side. But I eventually did thanks to my tippy toeing action haha.
Got back to our level and we all walked to the wrong side which were other people's rooms, so we were all hard out like wait, what?! Took showers and what not then took a pretty quick walk to the shops where we decided to just do some grocery shopping at woolies and make a lunch out of that! We over shopped. LIKE ALWAYS haha, and went back to the hotel room to prepare lunch. I was in charge of cooking the sausages and omg, it was incredibly difficult to do because the pan they had there SUCKED, so the sausages like, broke apart. After the food prep was done my sister's friend joined us for lunch and everything tasted so freaking good. Simple, yet tasty.
These photos don't do justice as to how good the food tasted.
After lunch me, Jade and Michael decided to go out and do some exploring! Michael shouted us cold rock ice cream and then we took a short walk to the beach where we just played with the water. Jade left her ice cream on part of the sand where the water hadn't reached, but nek minnit the waves crashed in and swept away her ice cream LOL. Yeah, had a nice time in the cool breeze then decided to walk back.

Once back I think we just watched TV and once more admired the view since y'know, city views generally tend to look better at night time/later! Took photos and lazed around before we decided to go to the spa with my sister & her friend Kay :)
I really like the photo on the top right for some reason!
Went back down to the lagoon where the spa was located and there were already a bunch of people in there, but the spa was big enough to accommodate for all. It was extremely warm, and I was sitting right where there was a bubbler so I was getting attacked by all the bubbles LOL. It was nice I guess. The other bunch of people were like, all guys trying to pick up these two chicks that were there for schoolies or something. It was funny as to watch LOL. Once they left we had heaps more room for ourselves and me and my cousins just floated around everywhere. Jade kept wanting to go to the lagoon, which was just a footstep away, so being as nice as I was, I braced myself for the coldness and went with her. Omg, the change from super warm to 'ice' cold as it seemed was hugeeeeee. Got used to the temperature after a while and it was actually pretty nice. It was so tranquil. Like, the whole atmosphere. There was nobody in the pool except for us 3 so that was cool. Attempted hand stands but I failed. Hopped back between the spa and the pool like, idk, 3 times or something. I didn't take any pics so once more, thanks google images.
As you can see, the pool lights up a bit and it's really quite relaxing at night time
Got back up to the room and as we were in the hallway Kay was like "This thing on the carpet looks like a penis" LOOOOOOL! Showered and then got ready so we could 'hit the town' for dinner! The hotel we stayed at was pretty close to everything actually, so we walked around to look for somewhere to eat dinner which meant we had to walk past the clubs/bar district and people at the goldcoast go out pretty early considering it was like 9/10pm.
Had steak for dinner somewhere along the strip & it was alright! I think after that we just walked around to explore a bit, where my sister and Kay tried out the oxygen bar, which was pretty cool because it had different fruit flavours and stuff. I remember stopping by a convenience store before we went back up to the apartment and I laughed so hard because Kay started literally screaming YOLO and the indian shop keeper was like "What's going on? Why are you yelling?" but she disregarded him and kept screaming YOLO and he was like "Please don't scream in here" and we just legged it, omg. Once we got back to the room we all just chilled and watched television whilst sipping on rekorderlig.
